KITS Block
Fresh perspectives on a highly-coveted and recognizable Vancouver neighbourhood.
Client | HATHSTAUWK DEVELOPMENTS / MAGNUM PROJECTS
With deep roots in Vancouver, a local family-owned developer set their sites on creating a design-forward residential oasis that maintained a sense of deep connection to Kitsilano. As a truly quintessential Vancouver neighbourhood, MIU created a visual vernacular that challenges the expected visual representation of “Kits”.

Strategy
A measured balance between an authentically west coast location and a desire for understated luxury drove the strategy. Finding new ways to visually express the highly-recognizable Kitsilano neighbourhood was essential to elevating the brand offering. MIU stayed away from the usual tropes of yoga mats along West 4th and running along the seawall, instead leaning into showing a more real, artful and captivating view of the beloved neighbourhood.

AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Rationale
Because Kitsilano is so universally recognized, MIU took a decidedly different approach to creating custom photography. We leaned into a new perspective — quite literally — that celebrated the beauty of the parks, public spaces and beaches that epitomize Kitsilano. By commissioning aerial drone photography, we were able to create a library of art-like images that reimaged the natural beauty of the location.
